A specific area that is near to my heart is working with men, refugees individuals  and professionals suffering from high amounts of stress as a result of their professional, familial and relationship responsibilities. I really enjoy working with professionals on reducing their stress and anxiety and decreasing the influence of their depression and hopelessness through meaningful collaboration and teaching of specific skills that will support your on-going ability to overpower your stress, anxiety and depression!

My Therapeutic Approach is grounded in a few different types of therapy. Primarily, I utilize Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Talk Therapy Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. It is also noteworthy that my approach is a direct and I blend my approach to include coaching because it serves my clients needs effectively and promotes an action oriented approach that my clients tend to appreciate. I customize my approach based on your strengths, values and goals while relying on the most Evidence-Based approaches to ensure that a holistic treatment plan is developed to best meet your needs.

What can I expect when I come to counselling?

Counselling is a place where you come to discuss issues that have been impacting your life. We will collaborate together and use your strengths to develop a detailed plan to create positive change!

What happens when I contact you?

If you contact me I will respond to you as quickly as possible and arrange a mutually agreeable time to have a phone or video conversation. During the conversation, I will assess your needs and strengths. We will discuss your goals to support the development of a treatment plan.

This phone conversation is also a good chance or you see if you think we would be a good fit to work together and ask any questions you may be curious about.

If we both decide that the fit is a good one sessions would start typically within a 2-4 weeks depending on my volume. Sessions take place Online using OWL Practice a secure Video Platform or via phone is you prefer .

How much does counselling cost?

My rate for Individual Counselling is $185 for a 50-minute session.

My rate for Video Counselling is $185 for a 50-minute session

If my rate is not feasible for your finances please contact me to discuss what options are available for you.

Can you refer me to other professionals?

I will always make the best possible effort to ensure that you have access to the best possible professional for your specific issue. If I genuinely feel I am able to help you in a meaningful way I will. However, if your issue is beyond my scope of practice I will refer you to another professional whom I know will be better able to meet your needs.

Does OHIP cover counselling?

OHIP does not cover counselling and psychotherapy at this time.

However, many Extended Health Care plans DO cover service from a Registered Social Worker. It is your responsibility to contact your insurance provider and inquire about their requirements for your coverage.

I will write you an Invoice that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

My service does not operate on a 24/7 basis. I attend to my clients’ needs and requests during my scheduled business hours from 10am to 8pm Monday to Thursday and 10 am to 4 pm Friday to Saturday.

I am a Registered Social Worker with Alberta College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers Registration #: 827305

I am a Registered Social Worker in Alberta with the Alberta College of Social Workers Registration # 17469.

I am a Master of Social Work graduate from the University of Toronto.

I always keep everything we talk about completely confidential. The only limitation is if there are safety concerns where I feel that your safety or another person’s safety are at risk.
